A Great Day for a Bark-B-Que

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Sat, May 19, 2012 @ 11:21 PM

Well, the turn-out could have been better but we sure had a lot of fun today! Many Gemini Dogs have reported that they had graduations going on today, so congrats to all of these new grads, and we are sorry we missed you!

We are planning another Bark-B-Que Celebration hopefully in July, when Gemini Dogs will be 21 years old! Check your calendars and suggest a good date for us!

We wanted to say a special hello to a brand new doggie named Koda who attended today to meet us all. Wilson, a Gemini training dog, stopped in for a tour of the daycare and will join us next week. We were also happy to see our daycare buddies, Charlie, Bailey, Jake & Oz, and Deja, Bentley, Dancer, Addie, Neely, and all the others who came by for some great food and a fabulous demo from the Westford K-9 Unit. Even some of our extended Gemini family came by. We are continuing the raffles this week in daycare and classes, so please join us to raise some more money for Corey's doggies - they deserve it!

Today was Armed Forces Day, so a special shout out to our son, LCpl Kyle Allen, USMC - we miss you and love you very much and can't wait to see you again soon!

Dog Food Recall: Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 @ 11:09 PM

On April 26, 2012, Diamond Pet Foods has announced the company is expanding its dog food recall to include one production run of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula dry dog food.

Apparently, one bag of the product has tested positive for Salmonella bacteria.

The recall of four production codes of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula is being conducted as a precautionary measure. No dog illnesses have been reported.

The Pools Are Out!

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Tue, Apr 17, 2012 @ 10:05 PM

Well, summer is officially here! We got the brand-new pools out of the packages and filled them up today with some nice clean, cool water. Of course the dogs promptly jumped right in and got the water all dirty just in time for pictures! But that's okay, we just dumped it out and filled them up again...

Hooray for Bandit!

We just received this news:

"Proud news. My friend and I recently had been working very hard to take a pet therapy test and I am proud to announce that Bandit "Boo Boo" passed with flying colors on March 17th. Here he is with his new badge...he was a little exhausted, but was a trooper. We hope to take our CGC soon, but Boo Boo is taking a well deserved break right now." ~Liv and Joe

That is awesome, Bandit...Way to go, buddy. Woof!

To Know Him Was to Love Him...

describe the image

You may recall that Cisco was the first in a line of successful extended-foster relationships that Gemini Dogs has established with our local Lab Rescue organization. He stayed with us while they were working on finding him his forever home, and they did a great job of doing just that.

So, we were very saddened to hear this news from Cisco's mommy recently..."It is with great sadness I write to the friends of Cisco.  Cisco passed away Saturday night at Tufts University Animal Hospital in North Grafton, MA of renal failure.  We had been fighting with the function of his kidney’s along with severe anemia, stomach ulcers and (at the least of our worries) high blood pressure.

Cisco filled such a void in my life and in my heart which is now empty once again.  Who rescued who?  My heart is broken.  He was my best friend.  I could always count on him to brighten my day.  We were so lucky we found each other.

Everyone who knew Cisco loved Cisco."

...so very true. We love you, Cisco!

Did you see this one?
