The Pools Are Out!

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Tue, Apr 17, 2012 @ 10:05 PM

Well, summer is officially here! We got the brand-new pools out of the packages and filled them up today with some nice clean, cool water. Of course the dogs promptly jumped right in and got the water all dirty just in time for pictures! But that's okay, we just dumped it out and filled them up again...

Bandit is a Modest Guy..."No Pictures, Please"

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 @ 04:01 PM

Hooray for Bandit!

We just received this news:

"Proud news. My friend and I recently had been working very hard to take a pet therapy test and I am proud to announce that Bandit "Boo Boo" passed with flying colors on March 17th. Here he is with his new badge...he was a little exhausted, but was a trooper. We hope to take our CGC soon, but Boo Boo is taking a well deserved break right now." ~Liv and Joe

That is awesome, Bandit...Way to go, buddy. Woof!

To Know Him Was to Love Him...

You may recall that Cisco was the first in a line of successful extended-foster relationships that Gemini Dogs has established with our local Lab Rescue organization. He stayed with us while they were working on finding him his forever home, and they did a great job of doing just that.

So, we were very saddened to hear this news from Cisco's mommy recently..."It is with great sadness I write to the friends of Cisco.  Cisco passed away Saturday night at Tufts University Animal Hospital in North Grafton, MA of renal failure.  We had been fighting with the function of his kidney’s along with severe anemia, stomach ulcers and (at the least of our worries) high blood pressure.

Cisco filled such a void in my life and in my heart which is now empty once again.  Who rescued who?  My heart is broken.  He was my best friend.  I could always count on him to brighten my day.  We were so lucky we found each other.

Everyone who knew Cisco loved Cisco."

...so very true. We love you, Cisco!

Did you see this one?

Mourning Babalu...

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Wed, Feb 01, 2012 @ 11:43 PM

We are extremely saddened to announce the passing of our buddy Babalu...he went very unexpectedly; his poor little heart gave out on him, but he will live in our hearts forever.

Babalu RIP resized 600

His death has affected us all in ways that we never imagined. Babalu is the first dog that we have had the privilege of knowing throughout his entire life, from start to finish. He came to us as a puppy, he did his training with us, he got groomed here, we visited him at home to take him for walks, he attended doggie daycare regularly; he was just a true Gemini Dog, through and through.

His daddy says it best, "Although it was too short, I know he had a very happy life, and he brought a lot of joy to (our) lives.

Thank you for having him at your doggie daycare. He truly loved going there; I had to drag him out at night when it was time to go home… I don’t think he would have been the happy, content dog that he was without the proper daycare he got early-on, as a puppy at Gemini."

We will all miss Babalu; he was such a good dog. His time on this earth was way too short, but it was truly a pleasure and a gift to have him in our lives for the few years that we were given. He waits for us now at the Rainbow Bridge with all of the doggies that have gone before him, and he will greet us all one day when it is our time to join him...

Indy's First Day at Doggie Daycare

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Fri, Jan 27, 2012 @ 08:02 PM

Hi there! I'm Indy, a Golden Retriever pup who first came to Gemini Dogs a couple of weeks ago as a student in Puppy Playschool class on Monday nights. I've been having a wonderful time playing with my pals and learning with my new family in the Puppy class, so mommy decided to bring me in for a doggie daycare visit this week. I had my first day on Wednesday.

Mom was a little nervous, but I was a super star! I was very well-behaved and I even ran into some of my old pals from Puppy class; Charlie was there to visit with me and show me the ropes, and I settled right in. I even got a tubby (that's a bath for you human folks) and a little paw trim from Marie while I was here. And do you wanna know the secret behind my beautiful coat? Well, aside from the fact that I'm from a great local breeder, mommy feeds me a raw diet, which is really good for me (and I really love eating it!) Mommy was even able to pick up a new order of Bravo for me that day, too - right here at Gemini Dogs! It's like a little piece of heaven; yummy food, lots of fun playtime, a little brain work, and a little spa time. Ah...this is the life!

I had the pleasure of meeting Sweet Dee and oh my, she is really sweet! She met Ellie H. during her interview, and they hit it off perfectly. She's super playful, and is a really happy doggie. We're looking forward to seeing them both tomorrow!

Remembering Seattle...

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Tue, Jan 17, 2012 @ 03:59 PM

Gemini Dogs is very sad to announce the passing of Seattle, a Blue Merle Collie, who attended our doggie daycare once a week with his siblings. Today, we sadly added his name to the "All Dogs Go to Heaven" wall located in the staircase of our training room...

Seattle resized 600Seattle was a shy and anxious doggie when he first started attending daycare, but as time went by, he became like a happy little puppy when he would run and play with his pals on Thursdays. Our Daycare Manager Marie said, "He really came into his own here. When he first started, he was really anxious, but after he came for a while, we got him to loosen up, and then he would just be so happy when he came in; he would run and play with all of his friends like he was a much younger dog."

Mom said, "You guys made Thursday his favorite day. He always looked forward to it and even though we only had him for two years, they were his golden senior years and well spent...especially Thursdays. Please tell the staff thank you for getting him to come out of his shell."

And I really think that Seattle's mommy said it best when she wrote back to me saying, "I hope there's a Gemini in heaven." We'll miss you, Seattle, but believe me, there is a Gemini in heaven; and you'll meet some great new pals up there...we will see you again soon...
