Day Training

We at Gemini Dogs have always believed that you are the best trainer for your dog, but sometimes you need professional help to get results. That is why we have created the Gemini Dogs University Day Training Program.

Work hours making it difficult to find the time to get your dog trained? Wishing you had someone to help lay down the basics and then hand you back the reins? Is board and train beginning to sound like an attractive option but you don't want to be away from your best friend for weeks at a time? Your dog doesn't need intensive boot camp - he needs Gemini Dogs University!

The Gemini Dogs day training program is a great alternative to a traditional board-and-train because you still get to enjoy your dog at home on nights and weekends. It's truly the best of both worlds!

Drop them off with us for the day and we will teach your dogs new skills (as well as practice and perfect old ones) and return a mentally and physically tired (and smarter!) pup to you at the end of the day.

Gemini Dogs University takes place in our Gemini Dogs University classroom and dogs are trained on and around the Gemini Dogs facility. Gemini Dogs University is not like our Doggie Daycare program. Dogs in our University program are trained in short sessions throughout the day and are not typically included in our regular daycare groups (although we do sometimes send them to playgroup for social time). Dogs in our University program do get to play with other dogs, but typically in smaller groups with our trainers. University students are also provided with varied enrichment activities throughout the day.  

How Does It Work?

At "school", your dog will work with our CPDT-KA and KPA-CTP certified trainers to build confidence, sociability, impulse control, and focus. Your dog will have a specially-tailored, individualized learning plan. Each day will have time spent in each of the four main focus areas: Manners, Brain Building, Fitness, and Social Skills. 

The school day runs from 9am-5pm Monday thru Friday.

Drop off is between 7:00-8:45am and pick up is between 5:15-6:00pm

We go over your dog's new skills with you during a "parent-teacher conference" in the evening once a week.

"Manners" may include: 

Basic to advanced obedience commands

Household manners

Not jumping

Impulse control

"Brain Building" may include:

Learning tricks

Nosework

Brain puzzles

Confidence building

"Fitness" may include:

Agility

FitPAWS Training

Playtime on playground equipment

"Social Skills" may include:

Playtime with other dogs

Maintaining focus around people and dogs

Polite greetings

Choose from one of our programs:

Single Day of University ($160)

One full day of Gemini Dogs University and one 15-minute parent-teacher conference (private lesson) to be scheduled at your convenience.

Undergraduate Programs (no electives)

 

Associate's Degree ($465):

Three full days of Gemini Dogs University and one 30-minute parent-teacher conference (private lesson) to be scheduled at your convenience.

You may use these days over a period of up to three weeks.

Example Options:
3 days in one week (M/W/F)
2 days in one week, 1 day the following week
1 day each week for three consecutive weeks 

 

Bachelor's Degree ($750):

Five full days of Gemini Dogs University and one 30-minute parent-teacher conference (private lesson) to be scheduled at your convenience.

You may use these days over a period of up to three weeks.

Example Options:
5 days in one week (M-F)
3 days in one week (M/W/F), 2 days the following week
2 days for two weeks, 1 day the third week 

Grad School Programs (ability to add on electives)

 

Master's Degree ($1450):

Ten full days of Gemini Dogs University with one optional elective and two 30-minute parent-teacher conferences. You may use these days over a period of five weeks.

 

Example Options:
2 weeks of 5 days per week
2 weeks of 3 days per week followed by 2 weeks of 2 days per week
5 weeks of 2 days per week

Doctorate ($2100):

Fifteen full days of Gemini Dogs University with two optional electives and three 30-minute parent-teacher conferences. You may use these days over a period of five weeks.

Example Options:
3 weeks of 5 days per week
4 weeks of 3-4 days per week
5 weeks of 3 days per week

Part-time "Auditing"

 

Auditing Program:

Available for dogs enrolled in our regular daycare or boarding program. One-on-one training with one of our trainers during their boarding or daycare stay. Available for lengths of time between 15-60 minutes for $1/minute. (60 minute lessons will be split into multiple sessions in one day.) Add on a 30-minute parent-teacher conference at Gemini for $30 at your convenience.

For Daycare/Boarding dogs:

Book a private training session with one of our professional trainers for 15-60 minutes on any day your dog is scheduled for daycare/boarding.

  • Polite greetings of people and dogs

  • Staying off of furniture and counters

6:00-8:45am  Drop Off
8:45-9:00am Potty Breaks
9:00-11:00am One-on-one Lessons with Instructor (Dogs participate in enrichment activities with assistant while awaiting their turn)
11:00-11:30am Potty Breaks
11:30-12:00pm Naptime
12:00-2:00pm Group Training
2:00-2:30pm Potty Breaks
2:30-5:00pm Electives, Gym Class, and Playgroups
5:00-5:15pm Potty Breaks
5:15-8:00pm Pick up
