Level One Beginner Obedience

Based on scientific principles, our programs stress positive reinforcement and reward, not punishment. We use non-choking collars and head collars for training equipment. It is our belief that training and behavior modification should be safe, enjoyable, and successful for both the dog and the humans who love them.

It is for that reason that all of our classes use Clicker Training.

Note: If you are at all concerned with using food as a reward, we strongly encourage you to observe a class prior to signing up. There are no refunds after class begins.

Class Info

Great for dogs of any age, the Level One Beginner Obedience class is designed to help you get started on creating a well-mannered dog that is a joy to be around! 

In this class, we introduce the first steps of basic training through positive reinforcement. Pair this class with our Level Two Beginner for a well-rounded dog! 

Schedules: You Have Choices!

We offer three types of scheduling for Beginner Obedience. They all teach the exact same methods, but the way the class schedule is set up is different for each type. Read the options below, and choose the one that sounds right for you.

The only restriction is that you must choose only one of the options listed. You can't bounce back and forth from Mondays to Wednesdays, for example...or from a 6:30pm to a 7:45pm class. You must choose one day/time for the entire session.

Choose Your Own Start Date

If you are anxious to get started, we offer Rolling Enrollment sessions, where you pay the same price as the standard class, and you still get 8 training sessions, but you choose when to start. Start this week if you'd like!

The available days and times are listed below. And yes, if you choose this rolling enrollment option, you DO bring your dog with you to the first class, because you'll be getting started right away! Please arrive 15 minutes early to meet with the instructor.

-OR- Take the Plunge and Enroll in the Fido Flex Plan

If you want even more flexibility, we also offer the Fido Flex Plan, a flexible training option perfect for people who just can't wait to get started with their training but who may have some scheduling issues trying to make it to 8-weeks of class in a row.

In this one, you get 16 weeks worth of time and you attend as often or as little as you would like within those 16 weeks. And you get to choose when you start!

Yes, if you choose this flex plan option, you DO bring your dog with you to the first class, because you'll be getting started right away! Please arrive 15 minutes early to meet with the instructor.

-OR- Enroll in a Standard 8-Week Session

We do still offer standard 8-week sessions with a start date and an end date, for those of you who like a little structure.

If You Miss a Class

• If you take advantage of our rolling enrollment session, you can plan to miss a class by notifying the instructor in advance; we will credit you with an extra week of class so that you don't miss out on any training time!
• If you wanted to take a Standard 8-Week Session, and you missed week one but still want to be included in the class, you may schedule a private lesson at no cost to you, assuming you can meet with the make-up instructor during her regular business hours. If you miss a week later in the session, you can attend a on Tuesdays at 6:00pm for no charge to make up that time.
• All make-up lessons are free if you can take advantage of one of the days/times offered to you by the make-up instructor. However, if your schedule does not allow for enough flexibility, you may need to pay $30 to meet with her outside of her regular office hours
