Check out what we won at the CPE Agility Trial!

That's me, Sadie; I won two 1st place ribbons, one 2nd place ribbon, and two Qualifying ribbons (that means that I can go up to the next, harder level in that event).

And that's Pandy next to me, who won two 1st place ribbons, and two Qualifying ribbons. She also won the fancy ribbon for getting a "Level Title" (that's a special award for reaching the requirements necessary for that level).

Our Mommy and Daddy were so very proud of us!

Cisco ~ Happy in His New Home!

Cisco

Hey everybody, my name is Cisco and I am a true Gemini Dog. I just wanted to tell you about a great program that Gemini Dogs recently started. They began working with Labrador Retriever Rescue to provide a temporary home for local Labs (like me) who are in need of immediate foster care.

You see, when I was surrendered, a foster home was not readily available for me, so the rescue coordinator contacted Gemini Dogs. Together, they arranged for me to come and stay here at Gemini Dogs (and participate in doggie daycare) until I could be adopted to my forever home. The staff spent some time training me, and I got some extra one-on-one time, too.

I eventually found a wonderful family through Lab Rescue. My new mommy recently registered me for grooming, and she sent this note along with my picture:

"Sending a recent picture for Cisco’s Gemini family. The Gemini family is so caring and was so good to Cisco. I appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you for taking such great care of him. He’s very happy and we love him to pieces!" ~Judi

Wasn't that nice? And if you think I'm cute, you should see the new Lab that is staying at Gemini Dogs right now. He's a chocolate Lab named Buddy, and he is still pretty young, but he's a big boy, like me. I saw him the other day, and he told me to put in a good word for him...so, if you have room in your heart for a young, active Lab, please contact Lab Rescue to see if Buddy would be a good fit for your family!

Doggie Daycare Goes High Tech

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Wed, Apr 27, 2011 @ 12:27 AM

Baxter checking in on the dogs in playgroupBaxter here has been busy on the laptop!

Gemini Dogs is pleased to announce that we are officially going high-tech.

We recently purchased a new software management system called Kennel Connection to help us better manage our increasing doggie daycare client base, and we are really excited about all the benefits it will provide you.

Keychain Tags

  • You will be provided with two keychain tags per dog. Place one on your keychain, and the other on your spouse/partner’s keychain.
  • Each dog you own will have his/her own tag.
  • Each time you come in to either drop off or pick up your dog, you will simply place your tag under our barcode scanner, and the computer will automatically check your dog in/out and record the exact time that he/she arrived or departed.
  • There will be no doubt when your dog was here for a half-day versus a full day of daycare, helping us to ensure that we are accurately charging you for your dog’s visit.
  • The system will also enable us to bill you accurately for boarding visits, including the appropriate charge for the last day of your dog’s stay (the charge that is based upon your check out time).
  • Don’t worry, if you forget your dog’s tag, we will still be able to check him in using an additional card that will be kept on file here.

Invoicing

  • We can calculate your amount due automatically; no more waiting for us to add up your boarding invoice, and no math errors to correct after the fact!
  • We will automatically debit your daycare package and receive a warning when you are getting close to the end of your package days; it will track negative days as well, so if you miss a payment, it will automatically deduct the previously used package days from your account when you make the next payment.

Boarding

  • The details of your dog’s stay will be recorded in the software, and saved for future use. Once we enter the feeding/medication instructions for one visit, they will remain in the system for your next visit. These details can be updated as needed.

Credit Card Processing

  • No more filling out paper-based credit card authorization forms. Save time by swiping your credit card at the terminal.
  • We can process your credit card payments on site, while you are here, and provide you with a receipt for the charge.
  • We will no longer manually process your card, so the charges will be immediate and you will know exactly what you are paying for each time, without having to ask.
  • Information is stored securely in the software, under password protection and in an encrypted format, so your data is safe and secure. If you happen to forget your credit card at some point, we can still process a payment manually. (We prefer to swipe the card; it saves us the additional processing fees if we can submit the payment via the physical presence of the card.)

We will have more updates for you in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

Meet Our Newest Doggie Daycare Pup!

Posted by Michelle Borelli on Wed, Apr 27, 2011 @ 12:24 AM

RobbieRobMeet Robbie Rob, our newest addition at doggie daycare! He is just about 6 weeks old, and left momma and his littermates a bit early, but he seems to be handling the transition just fine. He is a really playful pup, who is simply A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E, and we love him already!

We got a call from a concerned mom, whose son just adopted this sweet little pup from a friend of his. Her son is actually a Marine, stationed at Camp Legeune in North Carolina, where our son is also stationed. Her son is just coming back from Afghanistan, and ours is on his way over there. As luck would have it, little Robbie Rob needs a place to stay while his new daddy gets settled back into life stateside, so we get to take care of him until he is ready to go to his new home. It's funny, too, because he also needs to be shipped to NC once he's old enough, but instead of flying him down, we offered to give him a ride to NC as we will be heading that way to our son's send-off right around that same time. It's just fate! One Marine family to another...
